Positive Pregnancy Program
The Positive pregnancy program will be suitable for you if you are pregnant and have an increased risk of developing problems during your pregnancy.
The program involves meeting with a dietitian to discuss weight management during pregnancy, with regular reviews for monitoring.
This program is offered by the Dietetics department at West Gippsland Healthcare Group.
PPP is based on a health coaching approach. Topics covered include:
- healthy eating
- key nutrients in pregnancy
- appropriate weight gain during pregnancy
- food safety
- common nutritional issues including morning sickness and nutrient deficiencies
To participate in the program, you can seek a referral through your midwife or obstetrician.
Appointments are held in the Allied Health/Community Rehabilitation Centre building at the West Gippsland Hospital and are available from 8.30am-4.30pm on weekdays.
Appointments cost $14.90 or $9.80 (concession) for a 1 hour initial appointment. There is no cost for follow up appointments during the pregnancy.
The dietitians are also available to see women for all other matters relating to pregnancy, weight management, fertility or other health conditions. For appointments, referrals or more information please contact Allied Health reception on (03) 5623 0647.
