Haemodialysis donation from Greenhills

The Greenhills Community Benevolent Society recently donated $7,450 to the Haemodialysis Unit to fund three new inverter air conditioners in preparation for the up and coming summer period.Members of the Society attended the Hospital to view the newly installed units and were delighted to hear from client Leanne Pescod what a difference the air conditioners will make.

“As a client that attends this Unit on a regular basis, I want to thank the Greenhills Society for their donation as these units in summer will make such a big difference to being more comfortable during the warmer months”, said Leanne.

Haemodialysis Unit Manager Rob Stefanovski added “We’re thrilled that Greenhills has considered us worthy recipients of their funding. Our clients and staff welcome their support and appreciate such generosity”.

The Greenhills Community Benevolent Society Inc is based in Poowong with 12 volunteers, residing in Bena, Loch, Nyora and Poowong communities.

The Society disperses funds throughout their community including scholarships for tertiary students and apprentices and local residents with health problems who require equipment which cannot be funded by other means. President Jenny Watson said “Although the West Gippsland Hospital is not located within our region, some of the clients of the Haemodialysis Unit live in our district and the Unit was considered a worthy recipient of the Society’s funding”.
