Annual West Gippsland Hospital Equipment Appeal 2018

The community is being encouraged to dig deep for West Gippsland Healthcare Group’s Annual Hospital Equipment Appeal 2018.The Appeal aims to raise funds to purchase much needed medical equipment for the hospital and aged care residences.

WGHG Board Chair, Jane Leslie, said WGHG was truly grateful for the support of the local community.

“Our Annual Appeal helps raise funds towards extra medical equipment that is not covered by government funding.”

“This year we have identified the top six medical items needed by our patients, doctors and nurses.”

“The equipment purchased will assist our Maternity Unit, Andrews House and Cooinda Lodge Aged Care residences, Surgical, Oncology, and Paediatric units as well as Community Health Disability Services.”

Equipment needed includes an Ultra Sound to assist with monitoring women and their unborn babies. air mattresses and wheelchairs for aged care residences, portable vital sign monitors for Oncology and Surgical patients and a single sofa bed for parents or carers who need to stay overnight with their child while in hospital. Community Health Disability Services also needs electronic high low beds to improve ease and comfort for children and adults with a disability.

“All of the equipment purchased would still be used if West Gippsland got the go ahead for a new hospital to be built. It will also help us in the interim as we await the redevelopment,” Ms Leslie said.

People can chose to donate any amount towards an equipment item.

Donations over $2 are tax deductable and 100% of money donated goes directly to the Equipment Appeal.
