A new cohort of junior doctors and graduate nurses has joined West Gippsland Healthcare Group.

As part of their PMCV-accredited training, junior doctors will rotate through vital departments, including emergency care, acute and chronic medicine, and peri-operative care. These structured rotations in regional, and rural settings ensure our interns receive diverse clinical exposure and the high-quality supervision needed to build a compassionate, world-class foundation for their future practice.

While interns are based at Peninsula Health, Monash Health, or Latrobe Regional Hospital, they will spend a significant portion of their year at West Gippsland Healthcare Group.

Our graduate nurses will also rotate through a number of departments including the Medical Unit, Surgical Unit, Day Procedure Unit, Emergency Department, Subacute Unit, Perioperative Nursing, Birth Suite and Post Natal care. This year’s cohort includes three dual-degree graduates, and 16 Registered Nurse graduates. They began their WGHG journey with an orientation week before joining mentors to put the skills they learnt at university into practice.
