Trafalgar Auxiliary Opportunity Shop donates $40,000 to West Gippsland Healthcare Group

Volunteers from the Trafalgar Auxiliary Opportunity Shop have presented a generous $40,000 cheque to Andrews House.

The donation was presented to staff and residents at Andrews House during a special cheque presentation afternoon tea this week. This is the first of two donations the Trafalgar Auxiliary Opportunity Shop presents to Andrews House each year.

West Gippsland Healthcare Group Board Chair Jo-Anne Moorfoot praised the many volunteers at the Trafalgar Auxiliary Opportunity Shop who continued to support Andrews House.

“This generous donation will make such a huge impact to our residents at Andrews House,” she said.

“I thank each and every one of the volunteers for their ongoing support and acknowledge the hard work involved in the running of the opp shop.”

The $40,000 donation will go towards the establishment of a community kitchen garden at the facility, to create some murals to be displayed around Andrews House and purchasing various new furniture items.

Trafalgar Auxiliary Opportunity Shop President Glenys Brennan was pleased the donation was going towards purchasing some much-needed items at Andrews House.

“Our volunteers simply enjoy giving back to the community,” she said.

“We are thrilled to be able to present $40,000 to Andrews House.”
