The annual Charity Golf Day and community raffle is on

Volunteers are selling tickets in the community with the aim of exceeding the $35,000 raised last year.

The annual Bendigo Bank Charity Golf  Day and Community raffle raises money for West Gippsland Hospital and the Warragul and District Specialist School.

Volunteer fundraising committee chair Heather Steenholdt said it was the sixth year the event had run through a partnership between the Bendigo Bank and Warragul Country Club.

“All proceeds go to West Gippsland Hospital and the Warragul and District Specialist to purchase much needed equipment to support services to our community.”

“Over the last five years this event has helped to raise $128,000 to purchase vital equipment including ventilator, vital signs monitors, bariatric electric wheel chair, ECG machine, bladder scanner, syringe drivers and more to support patient care. “Equipment has also been purchased for the Specialist School to support physiotherapy and exercise programs for students.”

Mrs Steenholdt said volunteers would be staffing stands at Coles in Warragul and the Kiosk in Palmerston Street selling raffle tickets one day each week.

“We have received wonderful support from businesses again this year who have donated prizes to the community raffle and many new donors have provided items for the major auction to be held on the charity golf day on Friday February 28.”

Raffle tickets for can also be purchased at the Bendigo Bank Warragul branch and community bank branches at Drouin, Trafalgar, Neerim South and Bunyip, West Gippsland Hospital main reception, Warragul and District Specialist School and Warragul Country Club.
