Snowfest organisers have raised $21,000 in their first year supporting West Gippsland Hospital.

It is the largest amount the event has raised for charity since it began six years ago. Local businesses supported fundraising with dinners, auctions and other gatherings throughout the Snowfest month. Funds will almost cover the full cost of the $22,000 Hillrom Birthing Bed, an Annual Equipment Appeal item that organisers earmarked for the contribution. The bed is designed to support mothers, babies and caregivers through the labour and delivery journey.

Following this year’s success, organisers announced that Snowfest 2025 would continue to support West Gippsland Hospital.

WGHG CEO Dan Weeks thanked organisers and the community for their outstanding support.

“It’s remarkable,” he said. “Thank you to all those members of the community that took part in and enjoyed Snowfest this year. Know that the money raised has gone to a great cause.”
