We are delighted to announce the appointment of Shannon Wight to the permanent CEO position at West Gippsland Healthcare Group.

Previously Executive Director of Clinical Operations at Eastern Health, Shannon stepped into the Interim CEO position at WGHG at the end of January this year. In her time with WGHG so far, she has begun the strategic planning process and demonstrated leadership and vision in the Local Health Services Network CEO Forum.

Shannon says: “I’m committed to delivering high quality health services to the West Gippsland community and the broader population of Gippsland. Through improved partnerships with other regional health providers we can strengthen the provision of better care closer to home for our region. I look forward to continue the work I’ve started with WGHG.”

WGHG Board Chair Jo-Anne Moorfoot says: “Shannon has made an impressive start to her time at WGHG. She brings strong leadership, qualifications and experience to the role and we are excited to move forward as an organisation with her.”

Shannon will commence as permanent CEO on June 30.
