The community is encouraged to dig deep for West Gippsland Hospital’s Annual Equipment Appeal which has officially launched this week.
The annual appeal aims to raise funds to purchase much-needed medical equipment for the hospital and our aged care residences.
West Gippsland Healthcare Group Board Chair Christine Holland said the Annual Equipment Appeal was a major fundraiser for the health service.
“Our Annual Appeal helps raise funds towards purchasing extra medical equipment that is not covered by government funding.
“This year we have identified the top seven medical items needed by our patients, doctors, nurses and allied health staff.
“The equipment purchased will assist our Emergency department, Medical Unit, Consulting Suites, Community Health, Andrews House and Cooinda Lodge Aged Care residences and our Haemodialysis Unit.
“We are encouraging everyone to support this year’s appeal as every donation helps.”
West Gippsland Healthcare Group Chief Executive Officer Dan Weeks said he was truly grateful for the ongoing support the hospital received from the community.
“We have seven key items we are hoping to raise enough money for this year. You can choose to donate any amount towards an equipment item.
“This year we are hoping to raise enough money to purchase items including a ventilator for our Emergency Department, a dialysis treatment chair for our Haemodialysis Unit and a portable urine measuring system for our Consulting Suites.
“All donations of $2 and over are tax deductible, so with the end of the financial year approaching, community members and businesses may wish to contribute to our appeal.”
A flyer with donation form attached has been released to help people make donations easily.
The flyer will also be available in the next two upcoming editions of the Warragul and Drouin Gazette.
