Services Under Pressure.

The Hospital has rescinded the Code Yellow as the crisis arising from high levels of COVID among staff, patients and residents of Cooinda Lodge eases.

However there is still much sick leave and staff vacancies and with the increased winter demand, long wait times are expected to continue. Beds in the wards and the Emergency Department will continue to be closed for safety reasons as necessary, creating additional stress on the Emergency Department.

Please be patient with staff, who are doing their best under difficult circumstances.

If you are sick but do not require emergency care, please contact your GP, local pharmacist, Nurse on Call (1300 60 60 24) or the afterhours GP Helpline (1800 02 22 22). You will be cared for if you present to the ED and it isn’t an emergency, but the most sick or injured will be cared for first and you may experience long waiting times.

If you need urgent care or are experiencing a medical emergency, call 000 or present to your nearest Emergency Department.

Your patience and understanding is appreciated.
