This year’s annual Bendigo Community Banks Charity Golf Day has raised $30,000 for West Gippsland Hospital and the Warragul & District Specialist School.
The event, in it’s eight year, took place at the Warragul Country Golf Club on Friday 17 March.
This charity golf day is organised through a partnership between Bendigo Community Bank branches of Drouin, Neerim and Trafalgar and supported by the Warragul Country Club.
During the event, golfers participated in a team’s event on course followed by lunch. There were also auctions and a raffle.
West Gippsland Healthcare Group Board Chair Christine Holland was thrilled to see the continued generosity of our community.
“This figure is just wonderful and it will be put to very good use at the hospital.
“Over the years, this event has helped the hospital to purchase vital equipment such as respirators, ventilators, special purpose patient trolley, vital signs monitors, pressure mattresses, an ECG machine and more.”
“A big thanks to everyone involved in this successful charity event and for all the businesses and community members who dug deep to support the event by buying raffle tickets or donating prizes.
“The support that is given to West Gippsland Healthcare Group is invaluable and we thank all of the charity golf day volunteers and supporters for once again organising this upcoming charity event.”
Warragul & District Specialist School Principal Matt Hyde also thanked the community and the fundraising committee.
Committee representative Jo De Jong thanked the community for their generous support once again at this year’s event.
“In total, this charity golf day has raised $205,000,” she said.
“Our Gippsland community is amazing, and the funds raised this year really are a reflection of the people and their generosity.
“We had a goal of raising $30,000 this year and we smashed that out of the park,” she said.
“A big thank you to everyone involved in this year’s event. This is a team effort to get this charity event up and running and one we are very proud to be involved with.”
