Preparations are in full swing for this year’s annual Bendigo Community Bank Charity Golf Day in Warragul.

The event will tee off on Friday 17 March at the Warragul Country Golf Club.

The annual charity event raises money for West Gippsland Hospital and the Warragul & District Specialist School.

This charity golf day is in its eighth year and is organised through a partnership between Bendigo Community Bank branches of Drouin, Neerim and Trafalgar and supported by the Warragul Country Club.

Last year the event raised $24,000.

All golfers participate in a teams event on course followed by lunch. There will also be auctions and a raffle.

Members of the fundraising committee, hospital and specialist school have commenced selling raffle tickets in the community with the aim of raising $30,000 this year.

Raffle tickets cost $5 per ticket and will be drawn at the Bendigo Community Bank Charity Golf Day.

This year, first prize for the charity raffle is a Warragul Mercure voucher for two nights at the Pullman in Melbourne valued at $1000, a BMW car hire for a weekend valued at $500 and a Point Leo Voucher valued at $700 courtesy of BMW Gippsland.

West Gippsland Healthcare Group Board Chair Christine Holland thanked the community and the fundraising committee for supporting the local charity event once again in 2023.

“Over the past eight years, the event has helped the hospital to purchase equipment such as respirators and ventilators, a special purpose patient trolley, vital signs monitors and pressure mattresses.

“The support that is given to West Gippsland Healthcare Group is invaluable and we thank all of the charity golf day volunteers and supporters for once again organising this upcoming charity event.”

The community is encouraged to dig support and support the Bendigo Community Bank Charity Golf Day.

Volunteers will be staffing a stand at the Kiosk in Palmerston Street, Warragul selling raffle tickets every Thursday and Friday from 10am to 2pm each week in the lead up to the golf day. The first stand will open on Thursday 16 February.

Raffle tickets can also be purchased at the Bendigo Community Bank branches of Drouin, Neerim and Trafalgar, West Gippsland Hospital main reception, Warragul and District Specialist School, Warragul Country Club and the Bendigo Bank in Warragul.
