On 1 April, committee members of the Baw Big Blokes BBQ visited the West Gippsland Healthcare Group to see the medical equipment they generously funded for our aged care residence, Cooinda Lodge.

Two new patient sling hoists were purchased with funds raised during our 2025 Annual Appeal. The arrival of the new hoists, significantly improves the comfort for our aged care residents, making transport safer and more accessible.

Judith, the manager at Cooinda Lodge, provided the team with a demonstration of the hoist, showcasing it’s updated features. She thanked Baw Baw Big Blokes BBQ for their fundraising efforts.

“A massive thank you to the team. This in itself has made such a difference; used every day, multiple times a day” she said.

Baw Baw Big Blokes BBQ Vice President, Dean Addison, commented on the difference shown with the new addition.

“It’s good to see the significance and the difference it makes” he said.
