Careers in Health Work Experience Program

West Gippsland Healthcare Group (WGHG) is committed to promoting healthcare as a rewarding and dynamic career choice to support and strengthen our future workforce. Our work experience program helps young people explore career options and gain insights into relevant courses of study they may wish to pursue.

Since its inception in 2012, WGHG has proudly offered this program to inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals.

As a child-safe organization, WGHG ensures that young people have a secure and enriching experience during their time with us, guided by experienced and passionate health professionals. The program provides valuable exposure to a diverse range of careers, including physiotherapy, speech pathology, occupational therapy, dietetics, medical imaging, engineering, finance, food services, IT, and administration.

Eligibility:

The program is open to Year 10 students attending school full-time in the Baw Baw Shire and Latrobe City regions. Please note that, due to high demand, not all applicants may be accommodated.

Important Information:
Unfortunately, placements in clinical areas such as the emergency department, intensive care, operating theatres, procedural suites, and mental health care services, or direct work with doctors and nurses, cannot be offered.
