Work Experience
Careers in Health Work Experience Program
West Gippsland Healthcare Group (WGHG) recognises the need to promote healthcare as a rewarding and exciting career choice to strengthen our workforce in to the future. Work experience helps young people understand career options and related courses of study that they may wish to pursue.
West Gippsland Healthcare Group has been offering the work experience program since 2012 which is run by the Human Resource Department. As a child safe organisation WGHG works to ensure young people are safe in the workplace and have a beneficial experience during the time they spend at WGHG on work experience.
Work experience provides students with learning opportunities guided by experienced and passionate health professionals. The work experience program allows students exposure to a broad range of careers including, but not limited to, physiotherapy, speech pathology, occupational therapy, dietetics, medical imaging, engineering, finance, food services, information technology and administration.
Year 10 students attending school full time in the Baw Baw, Latrobe City and Cardinia Shires are welcome to apply for the program.
