Each year, West Gippsland Hospital holds an annual appeal to raise funds for vital additional medical equipment not covered by government funding.

 

We are truly grateful for the generous support from our wonderful community.

Item 1: Hillrom Birthing Bed

Designed to support mum, baby and care givers throughout the labour and delivery experience.

Item 2: Laparoscopes

A thin tube-like instrument used to look at tissues and organs in the body during surgery.

Item 3: Stretcher Trolley

A versatile hospital stretcher to support patient transport within the Emergency Department.

Item 4: Bladder Scanner & Probe

A portable, hand-held ultrasound device which performs an easy, non-invasive scan of the bladder.

Item 5: ECG Machine

Records the electrical activity of the heart to help diagnose heart conditions.

Item 6: Treadmill

Treadmill training is used by our physiotherapists as a treatment technique.

Item 7: Defibrillator

A device that applies an electric charge or current to the heart to restore a normal heartbeat.

Item 8: Resuscitation Crash Cart

A crash cart contains the equipment and medications required to treat a patient in the first 30 minutes or so of a medical emergency.
