Allied Health Program

West Gippsland Healthcare Group (WGHG) provides acute medical and surgical, obstetric, emergency, community and aged care services, primarily in the Shire of Baw Baw, approximately 100 kms east of Melbourne.

All positions will rotate throughout different areas of the healthcare service exposing you to a variety of services and clientele.

Our Allied Health Graduate education program is a multidisciplinary program available for all incoming allied health professionals (therapists and scientists) over the first 12 months of their career. We offer structed nine educational sessions to help ease the transition to practice, based upon topics that will help you progress in both your clinical and non-clinical practice.

West Gippsland Healthcare Group delivers a wide variety of services, and therefore your rotations may include a wide variety of areas, including;

• General Medicine and High Dependence Unit
• General surgery (Orthopaedic, Gynaecology/Obstetrics, Urology, Gastrointestinal, Ophthalmology, General Surgery )
• Paediatric and obstetric
• Emergency Department and Short Stay Unit
• GEM and TCP
• Aged Care
• Community Health Centre

All positions will be advertised and coordinated by the discipline specific team leader, and all questions should be directed to them. Rotation lengths will differ dependent upon your profession, and will be coordinated by the relevant team leader.

WGHG Allied Health New Graduate Program is offered to allied health staff who:

• Are within the first 12 months since graduation
• Meet all criteria as per position description of the job advertisement
