Volunteering
West Gippsland Healthcare Group is proud to have the support of over 100 volunteers working in many diverse roles across our organisation.
Volunteers play an important part in helping us deliver our vision of improving the health and wellbeing of our community. Without volunteers, we would not be the vibrant, successful organisation we are today.
Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community, make new friends, feel good, and even add to your skillset. Studies show that volunteers are happier, healthier and sleep better than those who don’t volunteer. You can read more about the benefits of volunteering here.
You may have heard about the new legislative requirements for volunteers to work in public healthcare settings. We can guide you through the necessary paper work to help you get started.
At WGHG, our volunteers over the age of 18 years will need to attend an interview, undergo a Police Check, have (or obtain) a current Working With Children Check, take part in orientation as required, and abide by our Code of Conduct.
